Man…but I just got here

Josh left for vacation today to Flordia for ten days. That’s a long time. I am so going to miss him. It was different when I was in Kansas and we were apart because I had my own life to keep me busy. I had my own stores to go to, friends to hang out with, and always plenty of busy work. Not here though, I don’t have but one friend and I have a difficult time finding my way to any place new.

I was talking to Cathy longingly in the car today of my days living in Hash where we could knock on anyone’s door on 7 and have someone to talk to. There should be living communities like that for grownups. Not in this neighborhood though, I’m scared to walk around here. Maybe this weekend I’ll find a nice little coffee place or something and get a new book to read…or trashy fashion magazines.

In related news, I still can’t find my tweezers and the eyebrows are reaching a critical situation.

AppleCore

Yesterday was an exhausting day. I woke up tired and I got 8 hours of sleep. I am predicting that this Friday evening I’m probably going to fall asleep around 8:30. I’m so cool. I was so tired all day during work, I could barely keep my eyes open.

Anyway, after work, Josh and I tried really hard to order Chinese food but it just wasn’t going to happen. We kept running out of time. By the time he got back from work, the comptrollers office and we were on our way to the mall it was 8:30. He got his laptop though, it’s super cool and I’m very jealous. I really want one like that now. Sorry computer…but you are just too big.

He named it OrangeSlice, which is a fine name and all…but since it’s an Apple computer, I suggested AppleCore…referring both to the brand name and to the apple brand hardware it has…thus…AppleCore. He didn’t see it my way. Perhaps I can turn him around.

A Happy Ending

Today was a noisey day. The clinic was so loud today with all those clients playing and then I came home and I swear the construction crew was purpously banging on my walls just because they knew I was trying to relax. I’ve decided I come home mentally exhausted, not physically. I’m getting a good amount of sleep at night, but by the time I get home I don’t even want to think anymore. I think it’ll be better when I’m not practicing at home as much, but I am gaining some confidence. I’m developing a much different voice at CMT than I ever used at practicum, much more of my stage “project to the third balcony” vocie.

Josh and I had some delicious ice cream from marble slab this evening. It was pretty nice of him to come and get ice cream, considering he’s been so busy lately. Tomorrow night I think we have a date for dinner and niceties. I’m looking forward to it. It’s been so nice actually getting to have my boyfriend around to do simple things like fix my ipod or cheer me up at night, I don’t know how I did without it for so long. I think I probably was in a constant state of denial about how much attention I actually need, which is a substantial number. All I know is that I have resolved never to live so far away from the people I love ever again. Today was a perfect ending to Josh Appreciation Day…just another great service Kathrynocity.com has to offer to our Platinum Club Members!
