Namaste

Well, I have completed my beginners series at yoga yoga and I am totally hooked. My class was just a really good time, and I loved the people in my class. I signed up to do the 40 day intensive practice commitment, so my goal is to take one or two classes a week and begin to practice at home. Right now I’m a little too sore after classes to practice every day, but I hope to build up to that. I’m also going to check out the northwest location and hopefully take classes there. They have ashtanga classes monday wendesday, which works pretty well with my schedule. So I might do Monday and Thursday…that’s a good goal I think. Anyway, I totally love it, it’s such a work out. So much sweat, it’s great! I highly recommend trying a class of any kind…it’s totally cheaper than therapy.

Movie Review

On Saturday night Josh and I saw Inside Man at the Regal Gateway Cinema. What a great movie it was. The cast included Denzel Washington, Clive Owen, Jodie Foster, Wilhem Defoe and Christopher Plummer. It was directed by Spike Lee, but it was an incredibly mainstream movie. It was suspensful, dramatic and full of action without being too over the top. It definitely had a sense of reality about it that made it all the more interesting to watch. The dialogue was great…witty and well thought out and the plot had some very interesting twists that at least to me weren’t obvious. This movie definitely gets the Kathrynocity Penguin of Approval. (get it…it’s not a seal….it’s a penguin…it’s new)

napping

Well this was a very successful weekend. On Friday Josh and I ate some delicious Pluckers and watched Two for the Money. The movie was good, it kind of reminded me of Boiler Room…without the Vin Diesel factor. Saturday Josh went rowing in the morning time and I did yoga. I went grocery shopping and spent a small fortune on food, then came back and took a nap. Josh came over around 5 and we watched the rest of the very disappointing UT game and then went to Crate and Barrell then to Boulevard Grill for dinner. The restaurant was good, I’d go back if we weren’t in a hurry, but you can’t argue with 2 for 1 burgers on those delicious buns…it was a great deal. We made it to the movie theatre right on time (well, officially late) but had to sit in the front row. Inside Man was a great movie, one of the best movies I’ve seen (movie review to follow).

We came back to my apartment after my attempts to get Josh drunk and take advantage of him were thwarted. We went to bed early, then woke up with plenty of time to go to Juan in a Millions for some extra delicious breakfast burritos. After breakfast, we went to go do paddle boats at the river, but unfortunately the river was too choppy and we didn’t know that you needed four people to do it, so we’ll have to go back later. We took a walk around and Josh showed me where he does his rowing. It looked pretty cool. I’d like to go back and sit on the side and watch him…it was quite pleasant out there. Anyway, I came home and showered, then took a two and a half hour nap….now I’m watching a Friends marathon and lamenting the fact that another perfect weekend is ending and now it’s time for the rest of the week to begin.
