Crazy Crazy!
Life has been so crazy lately! Things are really starting to get busy at work, and I can already tell I’m going to be working some serious overtime in the next few months. Our two newbies at work require a lot more supervision and support than Larry and I are used to, which is fine…it all just takes more time…time being Saturday afternoons. The end of this month is stressful because we’re trying to get fourth quarter bookkeeping and payroll done at the same time as tax returns. Hopefully I won’t be working every Saturday between now and April. ButI really can’t complain about working more though, as I just got a pretty comfy raise. This will certainly make some future plans a little easier to achieve…I’m really looking forward to moving out of the ghetto this summer. More money is always better.
Last weekend Josh’s parents came up for his birthday, unfortunately the weather was crappy, but we still had a really good time. We went to watch the Kentucky basketball game at Pluckers and then went to the classic car show, and of couse we went to Z Tejas for dinner. I like Z Tejas, but I think Josh and I need to find a new special occassion restaurant. There must be some other places to eat for our anniversary, valentine’s day and birthdays. Valentine’s day is coming up soon…so perhaps we can branch out. Last year we had indian food at Clay Pit. I think it is a true testament to our love that we can eat spicy indian food on a romantic occassion. My vote this year is a quiet little romantic Italian restaurant, but Josh "I won’t eat it if it’s not a cheeseburger’ Butts probably won’t go for that. He’ll do just about anything for me…as long as it doesn’t involve eating marinara sauce.
I’ve made an executive decision to grow my hair out, I’ve had the same hair cut for a while and I really can’t do anything different with it until it’s a little longer. I got it dyed yesterday, and I’m not really sure I like the color. It’s pretty light and perhaps a little brassy looking. I might have to get it redone, but then at the same time it might grow on me over time.
Josh went home this weekend to hang out with his dad who isn’t feeling well, so I’ve had the whole weekend to my self to do what I do best, be lazy and shop. I’ve actually been rather productive, just in short bursts. Next week will hopefully be quieter and a little less hectic, but it’s always so hard to tell on Sunday afternoons when I’m lying around in my comfy pants. But alas, I’ve learned that being a "grownup" means trading weekend that were once full of parties and sleeping in to waking up early to beat the rush at the grocery store and running around town to go to errands and shopping and maybe yoga if I’m lucky. The unfortunate thing is that I think it’s only going to get worse!
