Here are finally some apartment pictures.

Ah, Wednesday, a pretty good day of the week. Josh and I have our standing dinner date on Wednesdays. Tonight we are having meatloaf, noodles and sauce, and either peas or corn, I haven’t decided yet. A very good old fashioned American meal. It’s not the meatloaf my mom makes, I don’t have the recipe for that…if there even is one…but it’s a good meatloaf all the same. It’s really good leftover on sandwiches. I think one of my favorite things about living together now is making dinner. I really like cooking, and I like making Josh dinner at night, even if it is only something frozen, it’s the thought that counts.
Slowly but surely the apartment is coming along. We finally orgainzed the office this weekend, but with all of the computer assembly that’s been going on things are still cluttered. We have not tackled what to put on the walls yet, but we are in agreement that we need a big…something…to go behind the couch. Something to tie the room together…Big Lebowski style. We also have a small pile of silver shiney things that need a home. They are sitting on Josh’s night stand which is in the dining room…where it belongs of course.
I really want to get a dog, two actually, but Josh still thinks that we don’t have enough space. I think that there’s plenty of space. I see people walking their big dogs all the time in this apartment complex. It’s great for dogs since it backs up to the Bull Creek Reserve where I’m sure dogs can find lots of interesting things to play with and smell. I think there’s room for a scottie or two, but I’m overruled. The other point is that we’re not home enough to train it since we both are known to work ridiculously long hours at certain points in the year. But…whatever, some day I’ll get my scotties.
In other news, I am really enjoying the Wii. I need to play it more, but I know that once we start playing we have a hard time stopping, especially since Josh refuses to stop playing if I win. Somehow it’s okay for him to beat me, but if I beat him we have to have an immediate rematch. I can’t tell if that’s stubbornness, ego, or a combination of them both. I’m playing the HP OOTP game and it’s really good. It’s challenging for sure, and not one that you can run through in a day or so. The tasks you have to do take quite a bit of time, so I find that I play in chunks to make sure I always end my playing at a save point…otherwise all my work is in vain. The wand is a bit hard to maneuver at times, mostly because I’m not all that great at casting the spells, but I am getting better. It’s very fun.
Anyway, that’s about it for now, I will try to update this weekend if anything interesting happens. Doubtful though. I hope everyone is enjoying a beautiful fall day in your part of the world!

It’s Wednesday, the middle of the week and it will be quiet here in the office thankfully. This week feels like I’m settling back into my normal routine. I finally managed to go to yoga last night, but I only just barely made it after having to work late. Of course, I wasn’t so much working as waiting for other people to be done so I could leave, but I think that still counts as working.
Speaking of working, I have become very annoyed lately with the concept of cigarette breaks. My co-worker smokes like a chimney, and takes a break every hour, these breaks lasting about 6 or 7 minutes. So, figuring one break for eight hours of work and that comes to about 50 minutes of standing around smoking time. That’s in addition to our lunch break of 1 hour. Of course, since I am so busy I can hardly think straight my lunch breaks are 10 minutes. Just enough time to consume the food that I bring from home with me and get back to work. I can’t remember the last time I went out to lunch on a regular weekday…I can’t even remember the last time I went outside during the work day when not entering to go to work or leaving to go home. It just simply isn’t fair and I’ve just about had enough of it. I’d like to know how the boss would feel if I stood outside for 5 minutes every hour and just walked away from my desk. The punishment I get for not wanting to ruin my lungs, die early and smell like an ashtray!
The apartment is about the same as it was. I’ve decided to really make an attempt to keep it clean. So I’ve decided for 20 minutes every Sunday night I’m going to really try to make a dent on the week’s dirt. It’s not a thorough clean, but it’s enough to prevent those piles of crap from accumulating in the corners. We’ll see how long that lasts.
No big plans for this weekend, Josh would like to see a movie but I don’t think there’s anything playing that I’m really intersted in seeing. Well, there probably is, but it’s probably not the kind of thing Josh would want to see too. The big goal is to get the office organized and get the cable figured out. We haven’t been very successful at getting the cable hooked up, although techically I believe it is functional I can’t ever get the media center computer to work. Josh ordered a new one and has a whole plan of big computers and little computers that hopefully will allow me to watch Grey’s Anatomy when it starts again in a few weeks!
If anyone has a Wii you can email me your Wii number and we can exchange Miis. I’m starting to put a dent into the HP OOTP game, but I got frustrated with it last night and went to bed instead. It’s certainly a game that requires some dedication. I hope I’ll have some time to play tonight before Josh gets home and I need to start making dinner. See how domestic I’m becoming? Isn’t is adorable? Too bad I’d rather take a nap and play video games all day, but I think we can all agree that if I don’t clean and put the dishes away than it’s just not going to get done. Donna Reed I am not.
